Salted Peanut Chews

1 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 egg yolks
3 cups miniature marshmallows

In a large mixing bowl, combine all above ingredients except marshmallows. Mix until crumbly. Press into an ungreased 9-inch x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with the miniature marshmallows. Put back into the oven for 2 minutes or until marshmallows puff up. Allow to cool.

 

In a saucepan combine:
2/3 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
12-ounce package of butterscotch chips

Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in:
2 cups crisped rice cereal
2 cups salted peanuts

Spoon this mixture over the crust and allow to cool. Cut into bars.
